Zgirl Antics

Zgirl.  Lord, I pray, protect this little creature.  She is a fiery spirit, full of passion in all that she does, from blowing kisses to her daddy to biting her brothers.  I confess, I was wholly unprepared for her.  After having twin boys, apparently God needed to teach me a lesson in humility.  That inner voice said “I had Bam-Bam, and then twin boys before zfirstborn even turned 2…I can handle a single baby, no problem.”  I think God chuckled…and sent me zgirl.

This morning, amidst trying to direct ztwins in their chores and direct zfirstborn in his schoolwork, when all zboys really wanted to do was play with legos and bludgeon each other with their toy swords, multiple phone calls, and of course, caring for zman, zgirl ran riot.  Thankfully I caught her as she was just about to screw the cap off of the almond milk in the middle of the kitchen floor.  She did manage to get the ice cream out of the freezer, but I stopped her as her spoon was about to dive into the bucket.

I found a monkey in the bathroom sink with epsom salts on it…apparently Curious George needed a good soak.  She managed to get my bottle of Nordic Naturals fish oil capsules out of the fridge.  I’m not sure how many she ate.  Many of them she shoved down her pajamas.  Yes.  That was all before she was even dressed.  I also caught her just as she was about to jam zman’s fingers into a pair of nail clippers.  She felt he needed a trim.  Earlier she came screaming up the stairs that her brother hit her, then confessed that she had bit him, and was at one point dancing on the dining room table.  But the worst heart in my throat, moment of instant adrenaline, cold terror was when ztwinone yelled to me that she was breaking the glass bulbs on the Christmas tree.  By biting them.  Running into the living room I found her with a broken bulb in one hand, the other on her mouth, pulling a piece of glass off her lip and pieces of glass all over the floor.  And not a scratch on her or in her mouth.  I still don’t know how she managed it.

We’ve already had to call poison control for her once before when she got into zmr’s multivitamins and ibuprofen.  Thankfully she hadn’t ingested much and the multivitamins lacked the particular form of iron that could cause a problem.  I feel I should make clear that these things did not happen in long stretches of her being unsupervised.  She is just that fast.

She also sang ‘Jesus Loves Me’ about 10 times this morning, snuggled with me in bed, and made funny faces at me, told zmr on the phone to come home in her best sweet little bossy tone, ran across the room multiple times to throw her arms around my legs and hug me, blew me countless kisses, and, washed her own lunch dishes, and yes, really cleaned them, and prayed to God thanks that Jesus loves her during our morning bible study.  And changed her shoes multiple times throughout the morning.

Zgirl…Praise the Lord that she naps too.
