Sunday

The day began with zfirstborn presenting us with a menu written on a paper plate. After several back and forths he served zmr and I  breakfast and coffee  in bed.  “Boy is it difficult to be the chef and the waiter and keep everything straight…” the child laughingly exclaimed.  No kidding!  The sun was shining beautifully and we made it to church on time…no small feat for our family.

After church we stopped at a favorite ice cream stand. The tab adds up fast there for a family of 7 so instead of buying individual servings we get the big special Sundae. For $7 we get such an abundance of ice cream and toppings our family barely finishes it.

Then home and walking to the beaver pond behind our land, which we have dubbed Paddy’s Pond. We spotted deer sign and found the tracks of a moose and her calf.  There were also coyote tracks in abundance.  We startled a heron from his dinner and saw evidence of the beavers hard at work rebuilding and repairing their dam though we did not see the actual beavers.  Catching Salamanders and being serenaded by peeper frogs to end up running away screaming from a water snake. (That was me you heard).

Back to church in the evening for me, home to say goodnights and praying with zmr. An altogether beautiful sunny day to remember through this gray dreary week.
